2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid

pbtc structural formula

2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid(PBTC) is a low phosphorus content chaical with phosphate and carboxylic acid groups in its structure. It is designed to control calcium scale formation and deposition in highly alkaline industrial water treatment and boiler systas.PBTC has much better scale inhibition properties at elevated taperatures than organophosphates. It is chlorine stable and can be used for scale control in applications using halogen-containing biocides or hypochlorite bleaches.2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid(PBTC) has good chelating ability for heavy metals and can eliminate reactivation of heavy metals in deposits. In addition, 2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid improves the solubility of zinc salts with good synergistic effects.

Applications & Usage

2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid is widely used in circulating cooling water systems and oilfield supply water systems.

2-Phosphonobutane -1,2,4-Tricarboxylic Acid can be used as a high efficient scale and corrosion inhibitor in situations of high temperature, high hardness, high alkali and high concentration index. In lavation fields, PBTC is used as chelating agent and metal detergent.

PBTC is usually used together with zinc salt, copolymer, organophosphine, imidazole and other water treatment chemicals. When used alone, the dosage of 5-15mg/L is preferred.
